Water Clarity – south lake clear, mid lake murky, upper river channel muddy
FISHING FORECAST; Lake Livingston is in great shape with normal water levels and good fishing for all species. Summer patterns have set in and should continue through the month of August. Lake Livingston consist of over 90.000 acres of water and 450 miles of shore line. White Bass action continues to be the big draw with consistant limits being taken off mid and lower lake humps.
SPECIES REPORT:
Black Bass {largemouth} – Fish up to five lbs. recently on medium diving crank baits worked off main lake rocky points and rip rap. Fish “Charlie’s Flippin Bug” around mid and lower lake boat houses.
Catfish – Fish fresh cut shad drifted across 14′ flats and the old river channel. Fish fresh shad and chicken liver around the old 190 bridges. Fishing in the river at Riverside has been slow. Carolina and Bethy creeks continue to produce good numbers of Blue Cats on jug lines.
Crappie – Good Crappie being caught of the deeper boat houses baited with brush.
White Bass – Good fishing for White Bass in the mid lake area on humps 12-15’ near the old river channel. Best bite has been on “Sammy’s slab and Tsunami Zombie Eyes, white, green or blue jigged off the bottom. Best bite has been mid morning or when there is a little wind moving the water. Look for schooling Whites around the old river channel in the mid and lower lake areas.
Striper– Some schooling action for Stripers early am. south of Pine Island. Follow the birds.
