Water Temperature – 72-77′

Water Clarity –  south lake clear, mid lake off color, upper river channel off color, upper creeks clearing

FISHING FORECAST;  The lake is finally settling out and returning to normal levels following recent rains.  The north and mid Lake areas remain mostly off color. White Bass fishing is improving in the traditional mid lake and lower Lake regions.      Lake Livingston consist of over 90.000 acres of water and 450 miles of shore line.       

SPECIES REPORT:

 Black Bass {largemouth} – Look for clear pockets of water in  Carolina, Bethy and Harmon Creeks.   Fish up to five lbs. recently on   “Charlie’s  3/8oz.swimmin jig” black red neon  fished around boat houses and flooded grass.  Fish Tx. rigged  watermelon green creature baits and Lizards around shallow brush and flooded grass on the north end.  Fish the boat house in Thomas Lake. Throw  Chikara medium diving crank baits around rocky points.

Catfish Excellent juglining  across the  flats in  Carolina , Bethy and Kickapoo creeks.   Blue cats continue to be caught in good numbers taking fresh cut shad  on rod and reel in the river channel.  Best bite when the river is rising. Drift fish the lower lake river channel with rod and reel baited with shad.  Also, fish the bridge rails on the old 190 road bed  with shad and chicken liver

Crappie  Fish mid lake and lower lake boat houses with minnows and jigs. Best jig has been black and chartruese tube jig rigged on a 1/16 oz. jig head. The deep holes on the north end major creeks are producing Crappie around brush tops.

White Bass –   Trolling pet spoons off lower lake humps are producing fish. Pine Island, the Lump, the 190 road bed and Dove Island should produce fish.  Also verticle jig the same areas with 1 oz. Tsunami Zombie Eye jigs. and White Slabs.   The river Channel is still off color however could produce some good catches of Whites as it settles out. Best baits for Whites in the upper river channel include  200 series natural shad crank baits and Tsunami Cocktails.  White and chartruese best colors. Be on the look out for birds working over schooling fish now.  Follow the birds to the fish.

Lake Raven  –  Producing trophy fish now  punching Tx. rigged soft plastic beaver baits and creaturebaits  through the lilly pads.
