Current Lake Level – 131.98

Release – 53,000 cfs.

Water Temperature – 76-80′

Water Clarity –  south lake , mid lake off color, upper river channel high and muddy

FISHING FORECAST: Flooding once again here now as a result of all the rains north of here recently.  The Trinity river is the water shed for Lake Livingston and is high and muddy. It will take some time for the lake to return to normal levels.  Check with local Marinas for launching conditions before trailering.  Lake Livingston consist of over 90.000 acres of water and 450 miles of shore line.  .     

 

SPECIES REPORT:

 

Black Bass {largemouth} – Fish up to five lbs. recently on medium diving crank baits worked off main lake rocky points  and rip rap.    Fish  “Charlie’s Flippin Bug” around boat houses in Kicapoo and Penwaugh creeks.

 

Catfish – Fish fresh cut shad drifted on jug lines across the  flats in  Carolina and Bethy creeks.  Good numbers of Blue Cats being caught on fresh shad  fished on rod and reel in the river channel.  Good Blue Cats on popping corks baited with fresh shad in Harmon

Creek

 

Crappie – No reports

 

White Bass –   Most of the  Lake and the river channel is muddy now making Fishing for Whites difficult.  With the rising water there could be some good fishing for Whites up the creeks in pockets of clear water.

 

Duck Hunting – Lots of Wood Ducks in flooded timber on the north end of the lake.  Spotty hunting over all.  Gadwall and Pintails working flooded flats.  A few Mallards being seen on recent hunts.
