Normal Lake Level – 131’

Current Lake Level – 130.95

Release – 1000 cfs.

Water Temperature – 76-80′

Water Clarity –  south lake clear, mid lake clear, upper river channel clear to cloudy.


FISHING FORECAST:  Lake Livingston is in great shape with normal water levels and good fishing for all species.  Fall patterns should continue through the month of November. Crappie fishing is heating up and should remaining good in coming weeks.  White Bass   are being caught in  the main lake the upper river and below the dam.     Lake Livingston consist of over 90.000 acres of water and 450 miles of shore line.

 

SPECIES REPORT:

 

Black Bass {Largemouth} – Fish up to seven lbs. recently on medium diving crank baits worked off main lake rocky points  and rip rap.    Fish  “Charlie’s Flippin Bug” rigged on Charlie’s 1/4 oz. shakey head around mid and lower lake boat houses.  Fish Tx. rig June Bug Lizards around log jams and rocks  in the river channel  in the Riverside area.  Best bite for soft plastics has been mid day.

 

Catfish – Fish fresh cut shad drifted on jug lines across the  flats in  Carolina and Bethy creeks.  Best bite with a south wind.  Good numbers of Blue cats on popping corks baited with fresh cut shad under the Cormorant roost in Harmon Creek noth of Riverside.  Steady action for  Blue cats taking prepared baits over baited holes .   Several big cats taken recently dropping shad and chicken liver around the old 190 bridge in 12 -17′ water.

Crappie –  Good Crappie being caught now in the Riverside area in the river and major creeks .  Bethy , White Rock and Harmon are all producing fish.  Fish the log jams and lay downs in the creeks and river channel with live minnows and jigs.  Best jig has been black and chartreuse tube jig rigged on a 1/16 oz. jig head.  Best fishing in the creeks has been near the bottom at about 6′ down.

White Bass –    Look for improving White Bass  fishing in the upper river channel.    Fish the cuts with medium diving crank baits early am.   The river channel should produce some good catches of Whites in the next few weeks.  Follow the birds and look for schooling fish here.   Good fishing for Whites recently off mid lake humps 12 -19′.  Fish White slab baits and Tsunami Zombie Eye jigs near the bottom.    Occasional Stripers being caught along with the Whites on mid lake humps.  Good fishing for Whites and Stripers below the Dam.

 

Drum – Excellent action for freshwater Drum in the upper river channel now.  Fish fresh cut shad on  the bottom  near the cuts in the river channel.  Best bite is early to mid morning.
